CHRISTOPHER (CHRIS) B. JOHNS has been the Portfolio Manager of Tax-Free Fund of Colorado since its inception in 1987. Mr. Johns is a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager with Kirkpatrick Pettis Capital Management, a division of Davidson Fixed Income Management, which serves as Sub-Adviser to the Fund. Prior to joining Kirkpatrick Pettis, he was a Senior Portfolio Manager and Fixed Income Analyst for United Bank of Denver/Norwest Bank, N.A., where he developed and implemented investment strategy and trading policies for Tax-Free Fund of Colorado.

Mr. Johns coordinated and directed all municipal bond trading for Norwest Investments & Trust representing $400 million in tax-exempt assets. In addition, he was the portfolio manager of the Altura Tax-Free Money-Market portfolio and had managerial responsibility for Prime Altura Tax-Free Income Bond Fund, a general market housing bond fund. Mr. Johns is a member of the Denver Society of Security Analysts and the Financial Analysts Federation. He conducts numerous investment seminars and broker briefings on Colorado municipal bonds, including economic, political and legislative developments. Chris received his B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Cincinnati.

Mr. Johns is based in Denver, Colorado, which enables him to maintain a careful watch over the Fund's portfolio investments. He frequently travels throughout the state to check on current and prospective investments. Mr. Johns has been a resident of Colorado for nearly 25 years.
